Workplace Noise Survey

An assessment of the personal exposure to noise experienced by individuals in the workplace.  Ensuring compliance with the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005.

Noise Survey

A Workplace noise survey is the comprehensive risk evaluation of exposure to noise in the occupational environment.

Excessive exposure to noise can result in hearing problems including Noise Induced Hearing Loss. According to the HSE, in the UK it is estimated that 23,000 workers are living with work related hearing problems.

Who needs a Noise Survey?

All UK employers have a legal duty to protect the Health, Safety and Welfare of it’s employees.  This includes protecting workers from the risks caused by noise as set out in the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005

What the Assessment involves

A ‘walk through’ survey allows us to identify the areas, processes, equipment and tasks that are to be studied in more detail.

Individual employees wear equipment on their shoulder to measure their personal exposure.

A Class 1 instrument allows us to identify noise sources along with noisy work tasks and processes.

Time in the work area gives context to the results through identifying the type of noise, assessing influencing processes and evaluating control measures (including hearing protection).

Complete tables of LEP’d, LEQ and LPEAK data.  Interpretation of results relative to the noise exposure limits and action values.

A detailed report including full description of work processes, discussion of results, conclusions and meaningful recommendations.
