Hand Arm Vibration Testing
Hand and Arm Vibrations originate from the use of handheld power tools and is the cause of significant ill health including Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
Whole Body Vibration is caused from working on vibrating surfaces and can lead to vascular, neurological, muscular and articular health effects.
Objectives of a Vibration Survey
The Assessment aims to :
- Identify all workers likely to be exposed.
- Provide information and data to indicate where action is needed.
- Help the employer decide what further action is required
The survey will involve taking measurements of handheld power tools or machinery, in order to make a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks from vibration.
